Nicole Kidman Gushes About Motherhood and Her Marriage — But Does She Know Where (and How) Her Kids with Tom Cruise Are?
The Oscar winner shared updates on all of her kids, but some question the accuracy of her statements about the current whereabouts of Connor and Bella Cruise.
Ahead of the season 2 premiere of Big Little Lies and a few other projects that she has in the works, Nicole Kidman spoke to Vanity Fair about both her work and the relatively quiet family life she leads in Tennessee.
Kidman is of course married to Keith Urban, and said that she and her husband just get each other. "[It’s] extremely simple with what we want from each other and what we want from a relationship. Just peas in a pod in that regard," she said.
Together, Kidman and Urban are raising two daughters: Sunday is 10, and Faith is 8. The girls' names indicate something about the family's belief system, too. Going to church every Sunday as a family is, she says: "how we are raising our children. Keith has his own beliefs but he comes, too. I had a very Catholic grandmother, and I was raised praying, so that had massive impact. I wouldn’t say it’s absolutism, there’s constant questioning — I’m a willful, feisty girl. For me it’s very important that I don’t have judgment. My dad would always say, ‘Tolerance is the most important thing.’"
The actress shared that both of her daughters are very musical, and also provided an update on the adult children she shares with her ex-husband, Tom Cruise. Their son Connor, she said, is working in music and living in Miami. Meanwhile, daughter Bella is living in England, just outside of London, and recently launched her own t-shirt line.
Oddly, some sources are questioning whether Kidman actually got that bit about Connor and Bella right. According to Radar Online, both kids have become devout Scientologists. The site alleges that Connor is a reclusive fisherman who's actually living in Clearwater, Florida. As for Bella, she's said to be involved in the controversial church's promotional campaign for its internship program.
Bella is quoted as saying: "I became that annoying girl in the org who would just talk endlessly about how incredible training is and how phenomenal the internship is. We all need to do this. It’s hard work… but it is worth everything because you will get through.”
