In 2019, Tracy Tutor made the emotional decision to sell the home where she and ex Jason Maltas raised their daughters for more than a decade. Although she declared on a Season 12 episode of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles that she was "ready for a new chapter," the powerhouse broker never could have imagined the changes that the following year would bring.

Tracy and personal trainer Erik Anderson began a romantic relationship in March 2020. Weeks later, they quickly took a major step when Erik moved in with Tracy and her daughters, Juliet Maltas and Scarlett Maltas, amid the COVID-19 pandemic. "It started off as we were all sort of stuck together, and it morphed into really living together," Tracy told Bravo Insider. "So I guess that would be around April of 2020 [when he moved in.]"

Living with Erik has been "a very good influence on me and my sanity," Tracy admitted with a laugh. "So much of being in lockdown, I said to my kids, 'I love every bit of it,' because I got to spend more time with them. But we were all under one roof... and I think having him here sort of kept everything fun."

Initially, that fun included "a lot of Netflix, a lot of cooking, a lot of wine at noon." However, Tracy recalled, "After a few weeks of that, you’re like, 'Oh my god, this is not coming to an end. We can’t go on like this.' We had to sort of come up with a project." With that, the fitness enthusiasts spent $100,000 to transform their garage into an incredible home gym. "I’m not sure I would’ve created those types of projects for myself if I didn’t have that person in my life," Tracy shared. "What he does for a living, and what makes him ultimately happy, is being active."

"He really kind of changed the dynamic," she continued. "I think he sort of shifted our entire perception of how we were all gonna be healthy. Not just physically, but also, like, stay sane during this time. In order to stay positive, having purpose was such an important thing, and I wouldn’t have operated with intent like that, I think, without having him sort of push me out the door a little bit. Once he did, I started making healthier choices. It felt really good, and I think that’s ultimately why our relationship continued and ended up becoming more serious."

Now, as Tracy says goodbye to her gorgeous rental home (check it out in the video above) in the coming months and gets settled in her new house, "the plan," she says, is for Erik to live there with her. "He’s a 26-year-old guy that is living life to the fullest and he sort of brings that youth and that energy and that experience into my house and is around my girls," she explained. "And that’s positive."
