James Harris Gives All the Cozy Christmas Decorating Inspiration We Need

Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles broker James Harris recently showed off his idea of holiday design inspiration on his Instagram, and we have to say it’s directly in line with our very own idea of holiday design inspiration: Tasteful, elegant, super cozy, and oh so luxurious. Let’s break it down. 

First of all the scene seems straight out of a Soho House fever dream, with triple height arched steel windows, dramatic draperies, distressed walls, and a moody wintry landscape outside the window. Of course, the room is outfitted with plush clubby furniture — a salvaged wood coffee table, a leather wingback chair, and, in keeping with the holiday theme, an emerald green velvet sofa adorned with a collection of pillows, one of which carries the phrase, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year.” Subtle — no blinking reindeer here! 

There are also a slew of candles and packages wrapped in simple brown paper. But what really makes the room is the greenery. Pine trees are planted into baskets and left undecorated, garland is not hung but strewn about on the table and window sill, and a beautiful fig tree takes center stage. It's such a timeless holiday scene — and best of all, there won’t be much to pack away after the holidays in this space (except the pillow).
