Julie Montagu's Jaw-Dropping Photos Prove Just How Stunning Mapperton Really Is
The Ladies of London alum resides in a centuries-old English estate that is more gorgeous than ever in the fall.
After first meeting Julie Montagu on Season 1 of Ladies of London, viewers were given a birds-eye-view of the Viscountess Hinchingbrooke’s stunning family property, dubbed “Mapperton.”
Located on 15 acres in Dorset, England, the sandstone manor house belongs to Julie’s in-laws, the Earl and Countess of Sandwich. Several years ago, however, Julie and her husband, Luke, began running Mapperton’s operations — which is no small job. Like something straight out of a Downton Abbey set, the estate was built in the 1540s, and includes the manor and its surrounding gardens (one Italianate, one wild) — not to mention 25 homes, farmlands and shops!
Since taking over, Julie has modernized the open-to-the-public area quite a bit, adding a café that serves salads and sandwiches as well as an events space, where the devoted wellness expert regularly hosts yoga retreats. Luckily for us, Julie is keen on sharing her beautiful surroundings with her Instagram followers as well, giving them sneak peeks of the estates and its surrounding grounds year-round.
Below we’ve collected our favorite shots, which make us want to get on a plane and check out Mapperton for ourselves. Who’s with us!?
