What Will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Country Digs Look Like? We Have an Idea
The royal couple have hired a well-known designer to renovate their new home on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
Word leaked this week that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have lined up a designer to overhaul their new home, Frogmore Cottage, and count us not shocked by who they’ve chosen.
The couple decided to go with Vicky Charles, the former head designer for Soho House, a chain of ultra-luxe membership clubs around the world. The choice makes plenty of sense since Meghan and Harry are kind of hooked on the Soho House vibe — it is believed the pair had their very first date at the club’s London townhouse, and they are practically regulars at Soho House Farmhouse in the Cotswolds region outside of London. (Meghan even decided to hold her bachelorette party there.)
Charles is no stranger to working with celebrities — she counts the Clooneys and Beckhams as clients! — so assume it to be a match made in heaven. What can we expect from her renovation of the 19th century home on the grounds of Windsor Castle? Well, based on Charles' very high-profile body of work, we’ve got a pretty good idea the look will be a brilliantly executed mix of timeless British club, unfussy rustic country, and raw urban edge. Let's take a crash course in the Soho House look.
We're certain Charles will bring a generous dose of rustic charm to Harry and Meghan's new home, as she did here at Soho House Farmhouse in the Cotswolds.
And expect a nod to classic British styling — tufted club furniture, rich tones, and timeless accents, which you find at Soho House's London townhouse.
Charles is a master at creating warm, welcoming spaces that are never too stuffy.
Let's not forget there is a little one on the way. Soho House Farmhouse's "Teeny Camp" kids space provides a preview of what the future royal's nursery might look like.
And if Harry and Meghan decide to install a pool on Frogmore Cottage grounds, we can think of no better example than this one.
