Kate Chastain Just Experienced a "Bad Omen" at Her New Home
The Below Deck alum is concerned about her new Florida condo.
Bravolebs have had their share of unexpected animal encounters over the years. There was the time a lizard surprised Kim Richards in her bathtub — and the time a hummingbird got trapped in Kyle Richards' Aspen house. A bear once surprised Dorinda Medley at Blue Stone Manor, and Denise Richards had an adorable moment with a bunny who took shelter in her yard.
But no encounters have been quite so ominous as the one that Kate Chastain described in a recent Instagram Story — and the Below Deck alum announced that she is having a "little bit of a panic attack."
In her Instagram Stories, the former chief stew relayed an unsettling occurrence at her new condo, which she moved into about two weeks ago. "I really hope this isn't a bad omen," she wrote.
The incident began when she noticed a "sad little bird" on her balcony who initially appeared to be sleeping. "But I think now at this point it's safe to say, he's more than sleeping," she said. "Obviously, he must've flown into the sliding glass door," she concluded.
Then, later that day, a second bird met the same fate. "There are now two — two! — dead birds on my balcony," Kate revealed. "I just feel like this is not the best sign? I'm in a condo building. All the units around me, up, down, left, right, they've got windows too."
Kate didn't feel any calmer when she Googled the symbolic meaning of dead birds. "I stopped Googling it when I saw that it just said: if a bird dies on your doorstep, it means impending death," she said. "So that fact that it happened twice to me, what are the odds?"
Along with some shivers, Kate's Stories offered a brief peek at her new place. Inside, there's a chandelier and checkered floors, and the balcony overlooks leafy palm trees.
