Ariana & Tom Have a Good Explanation for Why It Took Them So Long to Get Furniture

A recent episode of Vanderpump Rules proved that Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval throw pretty sweet pool parties. From a pillow-strewn teepee to a mermaid float and a live DJ, their backyard bash had it all. But, when the couple hosted a dinner party at their Valley Village home in an earlier episode, there did seem to be some things missing.

"I love what you haven't done with the place," Katie Maloney-Schwartz quipped when she arrived, reprising a Season 8 leitmotif: Tom and Ariana didn't seem to have much furniture when the season was filming. In fact, they even used a rented table and folding chairs for their dinner party. 

But there's a reason it took so long for Tom and Ariana to furnish their house, and the cocktail gurus explained it all when they appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on May 12 (clip above.) 

When a viewer wrote in to ask why Ariana seems miffed when people comment on her lack of furniture on recent episodes, she had an answer at the ready. "The annoyance about the comments about the furniture is because all those people knew and met the [interior] designer we were working with," she said. 

"Everybody's aware that we were getting a lot of custom stuff made, so that takes a lot of time," Sandoval explained. 

"That takes like 12 weeks, I'm like: That's the entirety of filming!" Ariana added. 

But now, fans will be happy to know, Tom and Ariana's house has plenty of furniture. "We’re fully furnished," Ariana told BravoTV.com back in January. And since then, the couple has given us peeks at some of their custom pieces, including a modern breakfast table, brass-and-navy-velvet chairs, and grey velvet island stools. They've also spruced their space up with decorative accents including a textural silver rug.
