After Ashley Darby opened up about experiencing "quite a bit of postpartum depression" following the birth of her son Dean, she revealed on a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac that she planned to eat her placenta after giving birth to her son Dylan. Now, four months after welcoming her second child with Michael Darby, Ashley is reflecting on the experience.

"I do think eating the placenta helped," Ashley said on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen's August 1 episode. "Because I have not had any postpartum this time." Turning to fellow guest Ryan O’Connell, she declared, "I ate that placenta."

On RHOP's July 18 episode, Ashley spoke to her doula about the process of placenta encapsulation. Karen Huger, who was listening to the call, was intrigued. "So you're doing this to prevent postpartum? You went through a lot with baby Dean, so I understand," she said. "I'm so proud of you, you're gonna eat your own placenta."
