Gretchen Rossi Admits She Almost Lost Her Home to Foreclosure
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum addresses her housing situation head on during her new podcast.
Welcoming a new baby comes with all sorts of stress from lack of sleep to taking care of a tiny human to a messy house that doesn’t clean itself. And on top of those new-parent hurdles, The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Gretchen Rossi has also been dealing with financial woes as well.
Over the summer it came to light that Gretchen was allegedly behind almost $26,000 in condo payments on her longtime Costa Mesa home, according to court documents first obtained and published by The Blast. This week, Gretchen addressed the housing situation and revealed that she was able to stay in the property.
“I still live in my house,” Gretchen confirmed on her new podcast with husband Slade Smiley, Knot Too Taboo. “My house didn’t go up for auction. It was supposed to go up, I think, August 26 or something like that. The house never went into auction. I still have my house [and] we’re just fine.”
The new mom did admit, however, that she has faced income challenges since departing the show. “That was a very big paycheck for us and one day that light was switched off and we were like, ‘Holy hell, that is a lot of money that we don’t have coming in any more,’” Gretchen recalled. “We had to work really hard to find out what our next thing was and how we were going to make money… at that level,” she explained. “When you have that large of a paycheck coming in and that’s gone, you want to replace that.”
Today the couple has bounced back and rely on their incomes from their new CBD company BioReigns, as well as Slade’s production company and Gretchen’s career as a social media influencer.
