RHOC's Emily Simpson Fights Back Against Body Shaming: "Rock Your Curves, Ladies"
The Real Housewives of Orange County lawyer spells it out: "I said CURVES, not fat."
The Real Housewives of Orange County newcomer Emily Simpson is once again speaking out for body positivity — and cutting off body shamers preemptively while sharing some fashion intel.
Earlier in August, Emily spoke her mind on Twitter with a message to the haters: "It’s never ok to call a woman fat, fatass, plus-size, etc," she wrote. "I will take the criticism and be the voice for all the women out there that feel inadequate because they don’t fit someone’s ridiculous standard of beauty. Be strong. Be proud. Be confident. I got you."
She's got confidence on lock for sure! Yesterday, she shared an #OOTD post in a very summery blue sundress with platform espadrilles.
"How adorable is this dress?! I love it because it fits my curves perfectly! And yes I said CURVES, not fat, just a feminine and curvy body that I’m proud of! So rock your curves ladies and be proud of your body and you can order this dress from @elizabeth_mckay," Emily wrote, adding the hashtag #nobodyshaming.
If you're curious about Emily's preppy sundress, it's the $195 Smocked Flounce Dress by designer Elizabeth McKay. That dress is so adorable — and so is Emily! She wrote back to commenters on her post, keeping the positivity going. Emily told one commenter who said she had the perfect body: "You are so kind! It means a lot!! You wouldn’t believe the names I’ve been called!"
Instead of wondering how people could be so wrong and so rude, we're going to focus on Emily's body positive affirmations (and memorize Bravo's Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi's stance against ageism too).
