Emily Simpson Claps Back at Claims That Shane Simpson's Parents "Fund" Lifestyle
Emily Simpson revealed the truth about her and husband Shane Simpson's finances after Part 1 of the RHOC Season 18 reunion.
Emily Simpson is clapping back after Jennifer Pedranti claimed that Emily's in-laws — a.k.a. Shane Simpson's parents — fund their lifestyle.
The intense exchange took place on Part 1 of The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18 reunion (which aired on November 7) when the ladies began to discuss Ryan Boyajian's name being mentioned in relation to an FBI investigation.
After Emily talked about the things she apparently read about the case, Jennifer said that she herself had read that Emily's in-laws support her and Shane's lifestyle. Emily addressed the comment in an Instagram Story she shared after the reunion aired.
"If my in-laws 'funded our lifestyle' I'd be living WAY larger than I am right now. I'd be on private jets with Heather Dubrow," Emily wrote in her Story. "They do not."
What did Jennifer Pedranti say about Shane Simpson's parents?
Towards the end of Part 1, host Andy Cohen and the ladies began to discuss Ryan's past legal issues.
"I'm telling you everything I've read, and I've done as much research as possible to understand it..." Emily said about the legal matter, which Ryan has gotten immunity from.
When Shannon Storms Beador came to Jennifer's defense about Ryan's immunity, Emily said, "But that's opposite of everything I've read."
Jennifer then fired back: "Then I'm sorry, I've read that your in-laws fund your whole life."
Emily didn't respond to Jennifer in the moment, but she did share her thoughts on social media.
Who are Emily Simpson's in-laws?
The attorney and mom of three, who wed Shane in 2009, has featured her mother-in-law, Pary Simpson, on RHOC in the past.
Elsewhere, in an Instagram Q&A in November 2020, Shane shared that his mom is "100 percent Iranian." Shane and his family are also all practicing Mormons, though Emily is not.
What's more, Shane's eldest daughter, Shelby (who he shares along with his other daughter, Chanel with his first wife), held her wedding reception at Emily's in-laws' home back in August.
"They were married in the LDS Temple in Newport in the morning followed by a family dinner and ring ceremony at my in-laws’ home," Emily wrote on Instagram about Shelby and husband Evan's August 16 nuptials. "It was a perfect, sunny, gorgeous day of family and friends celebrating Evan and Shelby."
