Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave Gives an Update on Her Hollywood Hills House
The RHOBH alum recently explained what happened to the home she put on the market in 2020.
In 2020, Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave and Edwin Arroyave put their Hollywood Hills house on the market for $5,995,000 with Mauricio Umansky and Farrah Brittany as the listing agents.
“Incredible for entertaining — central location + those views!” Kyle Richards’ eldest daughter captioned an Instagram post at the time, which showcased the home’s outdoor space, beautiful kitchen, and open dining area. “SO many great [and] fun amenities.”
After moving out of the house and putting it on and off the market in the years since, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum recently shared a new update while doing a Q&A on Instagram.
Did Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave sell her Hollywood Hills house?
According to Reality Blurb, when Teddi was asked if she ended up selling the home, she explained in an Instagram Story video, “No… Edwin likes to pretend he’s gonna sell the houses, but ultimately, he likes to keep them and just rent them out. So, yep, we still own it. But it’s rented out right now, which is great.”
Why did Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave move out of her Hollywood Hills house?
As you can see in the video above, Teddi’s former home had breathtaking views, an “amazing” patio, a state-of-the-art kitchen, and several “cute” bedrooms. Still, Teddi explained in 2020, she had no regrets about saying goodbye to it after she and Edwin bought a new house in Encino.
“[The Hollywood Hills house] was actually Edwin’s dream house — we are going to be moving into mine,” she noted during an Instagram AMA shortly after announcing that she was in escrow on her new house. “Happy wife, happy life.”
“I didn’t think we were having more kids,” she added. “So I was fine having, like, the incredible views and all these types of things, because our kids were old enough to know, like, you can’t go near that, don’t do that. And then we had baby Dove. So now we need more land.”
In a 2021 interview with Ventura Blvd, Teddi and Edwin shared more details about why moving was the best choice for their family at that time. “Once I had the baby I was like, ‘I can’t be in a pandemic with a newborn, no backyard and hanging over the side of a cliff,’” Teddi said, to which Edwin added, “The moment I walked in [to the new house] and saw all the pocket doors, especially the one that frames the entire backyard — with that view straight through to the pool and giant waterfall cascading off the pool house roof — I fell in love with it.”
