Shamea Morton Has the Sweetest Birthday Tradition for Porsha Williams’ Daughter, PJ
RHOA alum Porsha explained why Shamea is “the best” when it comes to celebrating her daughter Pilar Jhena’s special day each year.
Shamea Morton has the sweetest family tradition — and it involves Porsha Williams’ daughter, Pilar Jhena McKinley, aka “PJ.” Since 2020, Shamea and her family have been honoring PJ’s birthday with an adorable video tribute that includes a cake and festive decor. This year, the family stuck with tradition and made a video that showed off their gorgeous confection in honor of The Real Housewives of Atlanta kiddo.
In a March 26 Instagram post, Porsha shared a video of Shamea, her daughter Shya Nyambura Mwangi, and her husband, Gerald Mwangi. The trio was seated in front of a pink-and-yellow birthday cake, and the festivity didn’t end there. They all wore birthday hats and blew on party horns.
Shya sang the cutest rendition of the birthday song. And when she was done, she shared a heartfelt birthday greeting with her pal. “Happy birthday, PJ. I hope you have a great day,” she said.
In her caption, Porsha wrote, “Awe The Mwangi’s are the best ever. Every Year on [PJ’s] actual BDay they send her the cutest video of them with a cake for Pj and a whole tiny party until we see them for her real party! Besties are [God’s] gift! I’m glad [PJ] also has one in [Shya].”
PJ officially turned 4 on March 22. And since no birthday party is complete without a cake, PJ’s special day involved frosting, candles, and plenty of rainbow sprinkles.
In a March 22 Instagram Story, the little one’s birthday cake is on full display. The whimsical confection has piped-on puffs of vanilla frosting as a border. In the center, “Happy Birthday Pilar” is written in a buoyant, bright orange font. Five frosted balloons give the cake even more festivity, and for an extra dash of sweetness, the cake is dotted with sprinkles.
The snap was captured right before PJ blew out her birthday candles — and what candles they were. Shaped like stars and the number 4, these seemed to have extra wish-granting power. Whatever the little one wished for, we hope she wished big!
“Help me wish my beautiful daughter Pilar Jhena (PJ) Happy Birthday,” Porsha captioned a post on PJ’s birthday. She continued, “I’m so grateful you and God chose me to be your mommy! I pray you continue to be as confident [and] loving and most of all that you know your worth!”
Porsha concluded the birthday tribute by writing, “Mommy [and] Daddy will always have your back and be there to support you as you conquer this journey called life!”
Porsha’s husband, Simon Guobadia, showed some birthday love to PJ as well. He shared a carousel of photos of himself with PJ and his wife, captioning the post, “Please join me in wishing my bonus daughter, [Pilar Jhena] a Happy Birthday 4th Birthday.”
