Marlo Hampton’s Nephew Turned 16 with a Trip to the Bahamas & a Wildly Colorful Cake
The Real Housewives of Atlanta aunt pulled out all the stops to celebrate her nephew Michael, aka “the King of 16.”
If there’s one thing Marlo Hampton loves more than serving a look, it’s serving her nephews. The Real Housewives of Atlanta aunt is deeply invested in raising the two boys, William and Michael. Whether she’s making them a special breakfast or proudly sharing their latest milestones, Marlo is forevermore the doting “munty.”
But when one of her nephews has a birthday, Marlo makes an extra effort to ensure that the birthday boy feels loved. That was certainly the case when Michael celebrated his sweet 16 on June 27.
Inside Marlo and Her Nephews’ Trip to the Bahamas
Michael’s milestone didn’t just merit a cake. Instead, he took a trip to the Bahamas with his brother, William, and his aunt. The group celebrated with food, fun, and — since this was a Marlo party — epic fashion.
In her Instagram Stories, Marlo shared the details of her family trip to Baha Mar. At the resort, the group’s hotel room was filled with balloons. Michael also got a treat from room service: Outside the door was a white tray with a “Happy Birthday” message spelled out on top.
Other highlights of the Bahamian getaway included mingling with flamingos and splashing away at a water park. “Their happiness is my happiness,” Marlo captioned an Instagram post, which showed adorable snaps from the sunny adventure.
Michael’s Stunning Birthday Cake
On the evening of Michael’s birthday, Marlo and her nephews headed to dinner at Marcus at Baha Mar. William was dapper in an all-black look, while Michael wore a bow tie to celebrate his special day. For her part, Marlo couldn’t help but look fabulous: She wore a stunning white dress from Monot with cutouts down the front.
The birthday dinner included a gorgeous multitiered fruit-adorned cake decked with sparklers. The fruity confection had chocolate-covered strawberries around the base and a “16” made of pineapple on top.
Marlo’s Birthday Message for Michael
On Michael’s birthday, Marlo shared the sweetest message for him on Instagram. Posting pictures labeled “The King of 16,” the proud auntie wrote: “Happy 16th Birthday to my baby boy. [H]ad no idea that I needed you in my life… but the man up above did. Michael please continue to observe every situation, make decisions for yourself, be a leader, and be authentic in a world that tries so hard to make you follow the trend.”
Her post continued: “I will always have your back, cursing or cheering you along the way to Greatness, lol. Keep bringing home the good grades…. We love them straight A’s over here. Always be you, a crabby [C]ancer, moody, helpful, kind, thoughtful, greedy, goofy, and the calmest before the storm.”
