People Pulled Guns and Rushed Popeyes After Being Denied Its Sold-Out Chicken Sandwiches
Popeyes' new chicken sandwich is hard to find, and some people are getting impatient.
In case you missed it, Popeyes chicken sandwich is having a moment. Laden with pickles and sandwiched in a brioche bun, the new menu item has caused quite a stir — and it's sold out in most locations. This last bit of news isn't going over well with some people, to say the least.
On Monday evening, a group of armed people allegedly tried to rush into a Houston location of Popeyes in an attempt to get the sandwiches. Employees of the eatery told ABC13 that the incensed group included two women, three men, and even a baby.
Apparently, the group had been told at the drive-through that the chicken sandwiches were sold out. That's when they attempted to rush into the restaurant with a gun, and try their luck again, police say.
Luckily, quick-acting employees were able to lock the store before the group could enter, and there were no injuries.
Police are still looking for the would-be assailants, anyone with information is asked to contact Houston police.
