Carla Hall Gained 20 Pounds Since The Chew — And Joined Richard Blais' Weight-Loss Challenge
Top Chef alums Carla Hall and Richard Blais are in it together.
Richard Blais has been recruiting people to come along with him on the journey that helped him lose 60 pounds: Specifically, the Bravo's Top Chef alum and Top Chef: All Stars winner explained that he's been doing the Whole Life Challenge, a structured program that aims to focus not just on nutrition and exercise — but also mobility, hydration, sleep, reflection, and well-being. And he's been inviting fans on social media to join him on his Whole Life Challenge Team Trail Blaisers, which will kick off July 13. (And no — in case you were wondering, it's not an #ad, by the way.)
Among those who pledge to be on board with Chef Richard? None other than Chef Carla Hall. Richard and wife Jazmin Blais shared the news on their podcast, Starving for Attention.
Jazmin noted off the bat how many people at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen came up to Richard to ask about the details of his challenge, after his initial Instagram post about it — including Carla.
"People are open to trying something that will bring about better health," Jazmin said.
Later, Carla joined the pair on the podcast and explained why she (along with her husband Matthew) is on board. "We look at our bodies and we are always looking back to this idyllic version of ourselves some years ago and we can’t get past it."
But apart from chasing that unhealthy fiction, Carla explained, "I wanna feel good. And I've gained 20 pounds since The Chew — a show where I actually ate 10 dishes a day! How does that even happen? You don’t see it… but my vanity part of my body was my stomach, my nice abs — which I don’t have," she said.
Jazmin chimed in, "So much of it is how you feel."
And Carla agreed: "When you feel good about yourself, you feel sexy. When I see somebody walking down the street — I don’t care how big how small they are — but when they look confident, confidence is so sexy. And the older you get, you say, 'Well, this is me.' You get the 'f--- its!'"
