Britton plays Orange County interior designer and single mom Debra Newell in the series adapted from the podcast and Los Angeles Times reporter Christopher Goffard's series of articles. Bana plays the man she falls for, the charming yet dark John Meehan, in Bravo's upcoming adaptation of the podcast. "It definitely tends to hit some kind of emotional, raw nerve for a lot of people and so I was, like everyone else, hooked from that angle from an emotional standpoint," Eric shared on the red carpet at the premiere for the series this week about why he was so drawn to this particular tale.
As for Connie, she noted that watching Eric get into character as the "likeable and charming" con man was an interesting experience, especially as the story "got darker and darker": "Eric did just such an incredible, phenomenal job with this ... he just transforms," she said.
