Eric Bana Called This Dirty John Moment "the Single Biggest Challenge" as an Actor in the Series
Eric said this part of Episode 4 was "the most difficult in terms of a scene and in terms of how much John had to do."
Dirty John Creator and Executive Producer Alexandra Cunningham described Episode 4 as the "emotional core" of understanding who Debra Newell is.
"It's about certain momentous decisions that were made by Debra's family that I think made her into the person that took John back," said Cunningham.
It was also this episode that Eric Bana found the most difficult.
"There's an amazingly challenging moment for Connie [Britton] and I — the scene at the hospital where she comes in to see John — and John has, I think the biggest amount of work to do that he's ever had to do in terms of turning a situation around," said Bana. "It was the single biggest challenge I think for me in the whole series in terms of a scene and in terms of how much John had to do."
