Does Katie Maloney Stand By Calling Raquel Leviss a Fan Girl? She Says…
The Vanderpump Rules OG addressed the recent drama with Raquel and gave an update on her dating life.
Katie Maloney is revisiting the online back-and-forth that ensued after Raquel Leviss wore a Tom Tom sweatshirt from Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval’s bar at BravoCon 2022.
ICYMI, the outfit choice prompted Katie to label Raquel — who was rumored to be “making out” with Schwartz at Scheana Shay and Brock Davies’ wedding — “a fan girl.”
“Started as a fan of the show,” the Vanderpump Rules cast member added, “and now a fan of the [Toms].”
Raquel indirectly responded by joking that she is indeed “a fan” of the Toms, but Katie didn’t engage any further — not even when Sandoval dressed up as Raquel in a Tom Tom sweatshirt for Halloween.
However, when Katie was asked about the drama on the December 1 episode of The Viall Files podcast, she had this to say: “I didn’t even think so much about it. I just thought it was a funny thing to say.”
“There’s nothing wrong with being a fan, but I just felt like it was just a bit much, you know?” Katie continued. “Be a supportive friend. Be a fan of them. I’m a fan of my friends and I support my friends, but it was a little over the top.”
Wearing the sweatshirt at BravoCon, Katie said, felt like “a bit of a statement.”
“I don’t even know if it’s about me,” she added. “I don’t think it’s directly about trying to rile me up… I think it’s kind of to just garner any kind of attention.”
As the podcast continued, Katie went on to discuss several other topics, including her dating life. “I haven’t been wanting to get into anything serious, obviously, because I’m still trying to make myself a priority and make my happiness a priority,” she said. “But I’m still open to getting to know people, and who knows, if the man of my dreams walks in tomorrow, I’ll know it then.”
There was another man who recently walked into her life, though. Addressing rumors that she was recently dating someone younger, podcast host Nick Viall asked, “Are you still dating the 25-year-old that you were dating in October?”
“No,” Katie responded with a laugh. “I mean, again, that was casual. For sure. That’s something I think that kind of got a little blown out of proportion. He’s the sweetest person ever, but yeah, again, just sort of like a very casual thing.”
