Why Travis Mullen Is “Confused” by Gina Kirschenheiter: “A Lot to Figure Out...”

Now that it's time to move out, Travis is confused by Gina's sadness over a decision she made.

During Season 18, Episode 3 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Travis Mullen and Gina Kirschenheiter finally began to make moves in their housing (but not romantic) breakup.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Orange County on Thursdays at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

At their soon-to-be-old house, Travis worked to clear out their closet and pack away his clothing.

"I can't believe how fast this happened," Gina said. "How are you feeling about everything?"

Travis replied that he was "overwhelmed," because "there's a lot to figure out."

Next, Gina asked him how he sees their new setup going. "I think it just goes from us being one single family unit to more of like, adult dating," he answered. And if they're making a mistake? "People make mistakes, and they figure it out," Travis added.

Gina began to express how hard it was to watch him leave, but Travis retorted, "It seems like all you're talking about is how to undo the decision that you made. It's really confusing to me."

Why is Travis Mullen moving out of his and Gina Kirschenheiter's house?

Gina made the decision for her and Travis to live separately because they can't afford a house big enough for their large blended family as the kids grow up. As she put it on RHOC, "I do love my life and I do love my family. But there's something here that's just not functioning right because the children needed more space."

Travis, however, requested that Gina stop saying it's "about the children." "Obviously, you made this decision. Okay?" he said. "And I think the kids would prefer to be in this space as one than separate. And I can't say that I totally disagree with them."

That's not to say that Gina was eager to welcome the change, though. "Today is not a great day," she shared in a confessional. "Sh-t doesn't get real until it's real, and it's real."

While talking to Travis, she explained things further. "I know right now I'm manic because I'm seeing your stuff going in a big and it's just so hard to watch it. You moving out of our house. It's confusing because we're not breaking up, and I don't want us to break up. It's hard," Gina said. "I do think this is the right decision and I see things we're gaining from this, but now I'm actually faced with the reality of 'Okay, but, you're not gonna be here tonight.' And that feels bad."
