Gina Kirschenheiter Spills on "Really Beautiful" Relationship with Ex Matt Today (EXCLUSIVE)
RHOC's Gina Kirschenheiter has it "all figured out" when co-parenting with her ex, Matt Kirschenheiter.
Gina Kirschenheiter went through some ups and downs in her romance with Travis Mullen on The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18, but one of her relationships is very solid these days: the one with her ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter.
The Long Island native split from Matt, who she shares daughter Sienna and sons Luca and Nicholas with, in 2018 (they finalized their divorce a year later). Since then, Gina has moved on with Travis, while Matt married his longtime girlfriend, Britt, in 2024.
During an exclusive chat with The Daily Dish on October 30, Gina gushed about where the exes stand today in their co-parenting relationship. She also revealed how they've managed to all blend their respective families.
"We have it all figured out. I couldn’t be happier and more proud of my co-parenting situation," Gina told us. "We’re just parents. You know what I mean? Like, we’re parents to our children. I’m a parent. Travis is a parent. Matt’s a parent. Britt’s a parent. It’s not even co-parenting, it’s just parenting. Our kids have four parents. We're their family. They're safe and happy with any of their four parents and that’s just our life."
The orange holder is "very thankful" that the four have figured out their modern family dynamic.
"Also, it makes it easier for us to be able to do the things that we need to do, like work and travel and all that stuff because you just know your kids are happy and fine," she continued. "I just don’t understand why anybody wouldn’t want that."
The mom of three said that it's "a really beautiful thing."
"You just know you’re always included in anything," she said. "We still have boundaries and, obviously, stuff like that, but we’re just so open, like, 'Oh, you want to come over Christmas? Whatever. If you have plans, great,’ like, 'Oh this year you’re taking the kids for the week for Thanksgiving. That's wonderful.' I want my kids to have that experience. I’ll have Thanksgiving with them next year."
"We're just very reasonable about it," she concluded. "It’s really all about what’s in the best interest[s] of the whole family."
Gina and Matt Kirschenheiter reunite for their kids' major milestones
The exes proved that their co-parenting dynamic worked when they sent their kids off for their first day of school in late August. Travis was on hand to help the kids get ready for school (and his three kids were there as well), but Britt wasn't able to be there.
"We miss [you, Britt]," Gina wrote in the caption of an Instagram Story from the first day of school.
