Patricia Altschul Posts a New Photo of Michael Kelcourse as He Shares an Update on His Health Journey

Michael Kelcourse, affectionately known as Michael the Butler to Southern Charm fans, is opening up about his life today, about a year and a half after it was first shared that he had suffered an acute spinal cord infarction, also known as a spinal cord stroke. He is currently living in Florida at an assisted care facility and he revealed how he’s feeling now that he’s closer to his family, as Patricia Altschul shared some news about her longtime butler and friend.

“Michael is out today lunching at his favorite seafood restaurant in Sarasota, Florida. Besides living in a beautiful assisted living residence ... he is near to his family as well. Follow Michael [on Instagram] at @michaelkelcourse and send him a cheerful message,” she wrote on Instagram, where she shared a new photo of her longtime friend and right-hand man. “Doesn’t he look great!!!”

Michael also posted a quick update on his life today in the comments section of the photo, adding, “Living the Florida dream.” On his Instagram account, he shared current and throwback photos, giving new insight into his life. He even shared a photo of the gift Patricia recently sent him: “Mrs. Altschul sent me a faux orchid to brighten my room. I think everyone should have one from her H S N collection. They are the best I’ve seen.”

One fan wanted an update on Michael’s cat, who had stayed in Charleston amid Michael’s health journey, saying, “He is such a sweet man. Did he get his cat back that you thoughtfully cared for?” Patricia responded, “No I’m still caring for her.”
