Southern Charm's Jennifer Snowden Welcomes a Son

There's officially a new mom in the #SouthernCharm circle.

By Jocelyn Vena

Charleston just got a little bigger as Jennifer Snowden welcomed her son, James Ascher, on September 12. The Southern Charm pal confirmed the news on Instagram. "Ascher was born on Mon 9/12 @ 7:50am. He is doing great & we are now home after a tumultuous 1st few days. He is a strong little man. I'm trying to give him some time to himself but I'll post a pic soon. Even my friends haven't seen him yet. It's been a just family kind of thing to give him some space to get stronger which he has. Thank you all for your kind words & concern," she wrote. "I've not been on my phone at all since Monday but I'll be back next week. Thank you again."

How to Watch

Watch Southern Charm on Bravo Thursday, December 5 at 9/8c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo App.

Prior to giving birth, Jennifer addressed the concerns over his health after he had been previously diagnosed with a brain encephalocele. "Our little baby Ascher is being born tomorrow @ 7am - if you're up around that time or not too busy today, please say a prayer for him that his encephalocele on his brain has continued to be miraculously healed in the womb, which was evidenced by his 2nd fetal MRI on 7/28," Jennifer wrote in a heartfelt post last Sunday. "We've been on a crazy emotional trajectory with this little guy but are so blessed by the news from 7/28 & hopeful that his prognosis remains the same or, God willing, even better once he's born & the doctors can evaluate him more. THANK YOU ALL. I believe with all of my heart that Your prayers have helped turned this little boy's fate around. And for that, I am forever in your debt."

This is the first child for Jennifer and her longtime friend-turned-boyfriend Lee. Back in June, Jennifer revealed to theThe Daily Dish that she already had an adorable nickname for the tot: "best friend." "I mean I'm 35 and I'm kind of a nurturing-type person anyway, so, yeah, of course [I felt motherly when I heard I was pregnant], but it grows significantly in your pregnancy as you do when you feel him kick. So, yeah, you bond," she said. "I guess every girl's different, but I did immediately and now we're thick as thieves."

Now that Jennifer is officially a mom, find out what else the Southern Charm crew has in store for the future.
