In Season 14, Episode 4 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, nearly ever person's dream happened IRL: Jennifer Aydin threw a party for dogs. As in, fellow 'Wives Dolores Catania, Teresa Giudice, and friend Jackie Goldschneider, as well as Jennifer's friend Lina Kidis, brought their families and pups to party with Olivia Aydin's dog, Biscuit. The occasion? Celebrating the fur baby's first birthday, of course! It was so cute, so elaborate, and honestly made us a little envious, so we put together this list of must-haves for throwing a dog party of your own.
So how did someone who spent years saying "no" to having a dog in the house become someone who goes all out for a dog's first birthday? The answer is persistence. "Every single one of my kids has begged for a dog," the mom of five explained in an interview during the episode, "But I don't give in, and they don't continue." She added that "this one," referring to her youngest daughter, Olivia, "continued."
"Olivia just has the saddest little cry," she went on, "So here we have Biscuit. A mommy's gotta do what a mommy's gotta do!"

The guest list was pretty exclusive and only the goodest girls and boys made the cut. "Between Gabby, my mom, Frank, and me," Dolores explained over entertaining footage of her wrangling newest addition, Lady, outside of the Aydins' home, "I have 10 dogs to choose from to bring to this dog party." She then listed off, with signature Dolores sass, each of the fuzzy family members she's at least partially responsible for.
Dogs weren't required to attend the party, though. In an interview, Jennifer explained, "I mean, listen, you don't have to have a dog to be invited. I'm having a party!"
As for the party itself? It was perfectly over-the-top, just as Jennifer's lavish birthday parties tend to be. There was an enormous rainbow balloon arch; delicious-looking cookies made for dogs (some even featuring cheeky phrases on them); decorations everywhere, and of course — the guests themselves were dressed to impress. The canine guests, that is, because per Jennifer, Olivia requested that the dogs arrive in style. There was even a dog fashion show! As there had to be. It wouldn't be a birthday party for a pupper without one.
Is anything sweeter than a bunch of pets in costumes (and their glamorous owners) gathering around to honor the littlest one's birthday? Not that we can think of. Except maybe those dog cookies that Jen's son Jacob wanted to try. They really did look sweet, even if they were biscuits for Biscuit.
