Meredith Marks Addresses Rumors of That Past Mystery Man in New York City
The RHOSLC cast member says her friendship with Jen Shah "will never be the same" in the wake of this gossip.
Jen Shah has some questions about Meredith Marks' love life this season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
As Meredith tried to figure things out with husband Seth amid their separation, Jen brought up an incident that occurred a few months prior to this season of RHOSLC. Jen said that while she was in New York City with Meredith, she ran into a man who seemed to be more than just friends with the jewelry designer. Jen also hinted to Whitney Rose that she felt like there was someone else besides Seth in Meredith's life.
When Whitney later told Meredith what Jen had said about her during Sharrieff Shah's birthday party, Meredith replied, "There's nothing to figure out." Meredith added in an interview during the January 6 episode, "This makes me very angry, because quite frankly, unless Jen is intimate with me or with Seth, it's none of her f--king business... Leave me alone to worry about my marriage. Go worry about your own."
Meredith shared an update on her friendship with Jen in the wake of the gossip during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on January 20. "No, my friendship will never be the same because when you know somebody is speaking about you, you lose a level of trust and that's what friendship is based on," Meredith said in the above clip.
She also addressed Jen's claims about that man in New York City, clarifying that neither she nor Seth were dating anyone while Season 1 of RHOSLC was being filmed last winter. "As I've said, Seth and I have dated other people. There's no specific mystery man, and you know, it is what it is. We're together," Meredith said of her and Seth. "We were not dating anyone last winter, for the record."
Meredith and Seth, who wed in 1996 and have three adult children (Reid, Brooks, and Chloe), ultimately reconciled this season of RHOSLC, and they're still going strong today, with the Housewife telling PEOPLE in a December 2020 interview, "We love each other... He's my best friend and he always will be."
During her most recent appearance on WWHL, Meredith also responded to one fan who thought that her "relationship with Seth seemed to get better overnight" and wondered if there was "something that happened that cameras didn't see."
"So, no, there's not one specific thing that happened. The reason that it appears to be that way is that nobody knows the years of history that Seth and I have had in our marital struggles and issues," Meredith explained. "And we had been separated on-and-off for a very, very long time, and it was not just the moments when we started filming. So this was an ongoing process that started long before the show."
