Did You Spot the Easter Eggs in the RHONY Season 15 Promo Shoot? (PICS)
Bravo's Creative Team reveals the hidden details in The Real Housewives of New York City cast photos.
The Real Housewives of New York City is back in New York fashion. To kick off the show's return, Bravo took over a Gilded Age mansion right in Manhattan to capture portraits of the Season 15 cast. Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Lichy, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, and Brynn Whitfield, new cast member Racquel Chevremont, and friend Rebecca Minkoff turned up the heat in every shot, but there’s more to the photos than meets the eye.
When planning for the shoot, Bravo’s Creative Team was inspired by the highs and lows of New York City. The historic home (which was officially designated a NYC landmark in 1979) provided a perfect lavish backdrop for the women to play withe throughout the day.
“We wanted to juxtapose the classically traditional setting with high flash, editorial photography,” Bravo’s Creative Team shared.
As for the looks, the goal was to have the women dress in a “NYC uniform” of black and white with pops of metallic. (Of course, there were also a few tiny pops of RHONY red, such as Ubah's bold lip and Jenna's manicure.) Each ‘Wife interpreted the brief in her own way, resulting in the ultimate New York vibe.
“One look doesn’t match the next. There’s latex next to sequins next to a white sock,” said Bravo’s Creative Team. “That’s very New York.”
The RHONY ladies were happy to show off each of their unique fashion POVs. “I think we all have our own personality and our own style,” said Sai. “I think you just need to allow everyone’s personality to shine through what they wear.”
If you look closely, you'll notice that each of the ladies were shot in a separate location within the mansion, each of which was chosen for each cast member very intentionally.
"Each room provided a different aesthetic that we designated for each cast member and had fun dressing with Easter eggs," revealed Bravo's Creative Team.
For example, Erin turned looks alongside an impressive spread in the dining room of the home, which is a wink to her role as the host of the group, which she unofficially assumed in Season 14. This season, she'll have the women stay at her gorgeous Hamptons home once again.
There was even a nod to Erin's now-iconic Pringles and caviar snack from Season 14, Episode 2: "There was definitely caviar present, but we didn't emphasize it."
Remember when Brynn showed off her chess skills in Season 14, Episode 5? It was only fitting to provide a full chess set for her to play with during the photoshoot. Checkmate.
Jenna's official cast photo includes a desk with a JFL nameplate. (Which stands for "Jenna F-cking Lyons," obviously.) There's also a little cameo from an original New York coffee cup, giving the photos a lived-in feel that creates a really fun dynamic against the baroque, opulent setting.
What better way to introduce friend of the cast, Rebecca Minkoff, to viewers than with a shot featuring some of her very own designs?
The day ended with Bravo's Creative Team capturing Racquel — a model and art curator — in the home's lavish art gallery. "Racquel literally vogued her way down the gallery," they shared. "It was the most magical portion of the day."
RHONY airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo. New episodes stream the next day on Peacock.
