Does Margaret Josephs Think She Over Inserts Herself in Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice’s Drama?
Plus, Margaret explains why she really told Melissa to date a “ball player.”
Before The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 13 premiered on February 7, fans knew that sisters-in-law Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga were no longer on speaking terms.
Since the season debuted, viewers have started to see the cracks in their relationship — from Teresa deciding not to ask Melissa to be in her wedding party (only to offer her a spot while the cast attended the mozzarella-making event) to declining to invite Melissa’s mom and sisters to the tense argument between Joe Gorga and Luis “Louie” Ruelas at the guys’ night out… and so on.
Margaret Josephs, who buried the hatchet with Teresa on the premiere after arguing throughout the prior season, said she chose not to “pick sides” between the family members on an episode of the Two T’s in a Pod podcast. The RHONJ cast member may have tried to stay neutral in the family matter, but does she think she “over inserted” herself in their drama?
“No, I don’t actually think that I over insert myself at all,” Margaret said on the March 7 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “I think I have given my honest opinion to both of them of how I feel.”
Though Melissa did not end up attending Teresa’s August wedding, Margaret did. However, she “couldn’t dance the night away” because she knew that Melissa and Joe were “very upset,” so she left the event early.
Margaret is trying to stay out of the family drama, but she’s still feuding with fellow cast member Jennifer Aydin. On Episode 5, Jennifer alleged that Margaret was “encourag[ing]” Melissa to leave her husband by telling her that she could date a “ball player.”
Melissa herself said the comment was only made during a time when she was “going through something” in her marriage, and that Margaret was just trying to “flatter” her. Margaret reiterated that on WWHL.
“We always say she’s like J. Lo,” Margaret explained about the “ball player” remark. “I go, ‘If J. Lo could be with A-Rod, you could be with anybody…’ That’s what you say to your good friends, you know, when you’re gassing people up.”
