Jackie Goldschneider Shuts Down a Rumor About Her Husband and Her Sister
The RHONJ friend denied that Evan dated her estranged sister first, though she joked that it made for a “great story.”
Jackie Goldschneider is debunking a recent rumor about her relationship with her husband, Evan Goldschneider.
After a Twitter user posted a tweet claiming that Jackie was Evan’s “[second] choice” because he “was dating her sister first,” The Real Housewives of New Jersey friend took to her Instagram Stories to deny the speculation.
“While that sounds like a great story, it is sadly not true,” Jackie shared in a since-expired video on the app on April 1, per Page Six. “If it were true, you would’ve known about it already because I’m completely open about my life, and because I don’t really think it’s that embarrassing of a story.”
Jackie noted that she met and began dating Evan in 2003, and her sister has been “happily married” since 1998.
“If she dated him in the ’90s before I met him in 2003, I actually think that that would’ve been a pretty interesting story,” she added. “I’m also sure that there would’ve been some pictures or something, so I couldn’t even deny it, but sadly, it is not true.”
It’s unclear exactly how the aforementioned rumor got started, but Jackie has long been open about her estrangement from her sister. During a 2021 appearance on The Daily Dish podcast, Jackie revealed that she never really had much of a relationship with her sister.
“My relationship with my sister is… I don’t even want to call it strained because I’ve never even known her as a sister. It’s very strange to me to even refer to her as my sister, ’cause she’s just another woman who shares the same parents as me. I’ve never, ever, ever had a relationship with her,” she said on the podcast. “And I thought that when we got to be adults that would change and our children would soften that divide. But it just never happened.”
Jackie added that she tried to make amends with her sister during a previous season of RHONJ, but the relationship wasn’t amenable at the time. Though Jackie said the two have tried to get along before, they fall into a “recurring pattern” where they will start fighting again just a few minutes later.
Based on what Jackie said on her Instagram Stories, at least the sisters would not be fighting over Evan.
