Rachel Fuda Sheds New Light on Her Pregnancy (and the Unique Way She Told John!)

Get exclusive details from Rachel Fuda on the surprising way she told John Fuda that she's pregnant and more unheard reveals about the RHONJ cast member's exciting baby news.

By Allison Crist

Rachel Fuda announced that she and her husband John Fuda are expecting a new baby during The Real Housewives of New Jersey'"Off the Rails" special episode on August 11 and, now, she's telling all about her pregnancy.

"Our hearts are exploding!" Rachel said during an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish on August 12. "We feel so blessed and fortunate and grateful. Family is what I cherish most in this world and it is a gift to be able to add one more to ours."

The Fuda family currently consists of three children: teenage son Jaiden (who Rachel began the process of legally adopting on Season 13) and young daughters Gianella Jolie (born in July 2020) and Giuliana Rose (born in March 2022).

How did Rachel Fuda's family react to her pregnancy?

Suffice it to say, both John and all three of their children are thrilled to be getting a new sibling. She revealed how she told each family member the news during her interview with The Daily Dish, explaining, "I gave John a Chanel box as a bit of a decoy, and when he opened it, there was a baby outfit and photos of my ultrasound inside. John was slightly puzzled for a moment, and then quickly realized what this signified and then turned to the girls and exclaimed they were going to be big sisters."

"They were so happy and excited," Rachel added of Gianella and Giuliana. "They still have not stopped talking about having a baby!"

Giuliana specifically is "obsessed with babies," Rachel added. "She talks about them all the time, so she is thrilled there will be a baby in the house and she will now get to be a big sister."

"With Jaiden, we sat down at dinner and we said, we have to tell you something," Rachel continued. "He immediately knew. He just said, 'Let me guess, you're having a baby?' We were surprised he knew!"

How did Rachel Fuda keep her pregnancy a secret?

Rachel told The Daily Dish that she opted to share her pregnancy news "with only my family and my closest friends."

"It's been challenging to cover my little emerging bump, but I am so excited for our growing family and to finally be able to share that excitement openly," she added.

When Rachel told some of her RHONJ castmates (Jennifer Fessler, Margaret Josephs, Danielle Cabral, and Melissa Gorga), they were, of course, thrilled. As she put it, "Everyone was so supportive when I first shared the news at Rails. My closest friends in the cast are all amazing mothers and I know I can count on them."

Do Rachel and John Fuda have their baby's name picked out yet?

Not just yet. "We don't have a name picked out at this time," Rachel revealed before speculating on whether she and John plan to opt for another "G" name as they have with their two youngest children. "I would be open to a G name or a J name, at least one that starts with that sound, but to be perfectly honest, we haven't even begun considering names yet."

Is Rachel Fuda making any changes to her home before giving birth?

"Thankfully most of the house is already baby-friendly since I've had the girls back-to-back," Rachel told The Daily Dish. "We're looking at getting a new baby swing, some new essentials like bottles. [But] the most important thing to have is help! Which is why I am so grateful that my parents are blocking off two weeks for me after the baby is born."
