Gina Reveals Her "Very Special" Christmas Tradition with Travis & Their Kids (EXCLUSIVE)
RHOC's Gina Kirschenheiter shared the details of how she and Travis Mullen celebrate the holidays with their combined six kids.
Gina Kirschenheiter and Travis Mullen have the sweetest holiday tradition with their blended family.
During an October 30 interview with The Daily Dish, Gina revealed what she and her boyfriend, who each have three children from previous marriages, have been doing "the last couple of Christmases" together. (Gina shares Nicholas, Luca, and Sienna with ex-husband Matt Kirschenheiter while Travis has two daughters, Presley and Bennett, and son Joseph, with his ex).
"Each person picks a name in the family and you do one store-bought gift and one homemade gift. And we open them up on Christmas morning," The Real Housewives of Orange County mom shared. "It can be anything, like last year I remember our middles, our girls, they made these cards made of macaroni and random parts for the little boys and they’re obsessed with them. They still have them!"
Gina added: "I wrote my stepdaughter a poem, that was my homemade gift for her. It’s been really special and really wonderful, and I think it’s really fun that we do [this]."
Gina also shared how the blended family of six does their shopping around the holiday season. "I take three of the kids and Trav takes three of the kids so that depending on who you have, they can’t see the gift," she stated. "It makes the holiday season special too, because you have to spend the day going shopping and then you have to work on the homemade project throughout the season."
She concluded: "It’s been really, truly wonderful. It’s very special. It’s cool and it’s fun. It lets the kids start to think about thinking about others. It’s nice."
Gina Kirschenheiter talks co-parenting with her ex, Matt Kirschenheiter, over the holidays
In addition to sharing how she and her combined family celebrate the holidays, Gina also revealed how she balances co-parenting with Matt, whom she divorced in 2019.
“We still have boundaries and, obviously stuff like that, but we’re just so open, like, ‘Oh, you want to come over Christmas? Whatever. If you have plans, great,’” the New York native shared. “Like, ‘Oh this year you’re taking the kids for the week for Thanksgiving. That’s wonderful.’ I want my kids to have that experience. I’ll have Thanksgiving with them next year. We’re just very reasonable about it. It’s really all about what’s in the best interest of the whole family.”
