Patricia Altschul Shares an Update on Michael Kelcourse
The Southern Charm matriarch opened up about Michael the Butler's condition.
Southern Charm's Patricia Altschul is opening up about her longtime right-hand man, Michael Kelcourse, after he suffered from an acute spinal cord infarction, which is also known as a spinal cord stroke.
Patricia offered an update on the man Southern Charm fans affectionately know as Michael the Butler on her Instagram, linking out to a resource page for those looking to follow his journey. She wrote, "To get updates on Michael Kelcourse #michaelthebutler and to send him good wishes get the @caringbridgeofficial app or go to the link in my bio ... also included is the address for the Shepherd Spinal Center in Atlanta."
Previously, Patricia's son, Whitney Sudler-Smith, addressed Michael's condition in a statement to The Daily Dish late last month. “I am sorry to inform you that Michael Kelcourse, affectionately known as 'Michael The Butler', recently suffered an acute spinal cord infarction which is often called a 'spinal cord stroke.' Although this tragedy has caused significant nerve damage and impairment, with the help of the outstanding physicians at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, we are hopeful Michael will soon recover," he said at the time. "Thank you for respecting Michael’s privacy during this challenging time.”
The Southern Charm cast is also showing their love for Michael. Shep Rose recently opened up about Michael on Twitter, sharing with a fan, "We’re all thinking about him here." Leva Bonaparte commented on Patricia's Instagram, "Sending him so much love!"
Fans can send cards for Michael to Shepherd Center based in Atlanta (you can find more info here).
According to a note posted to the resource page, "Michael has and will continue to read every encouraging comment and inspiring tribute. The kindness shown in word, deed, prayer, and sweet pet proxies (!) have had a profound impact on Michael’s journey. His positive outlook and attitude of gratitude serve as daily inspiration for the wonderful team at Shepherd Center and members of his close knit support system."
