That Viral Photo of Lisa Rinna and Issa Rae Just Got Even More Awkward
The Insecure star explains why she kept her distance from the Beverly Hills Housewife in the pic.
New York Fashion Week has come to a close, but not before giving us a head-scratching, headline-grabbing buzzy moment involving Lisa Rinna and actress Issa Rae.
The celebs were seated next to each other at Vera Wang's show on February 11, along with Lisa's daughters Delilah Belle Hamlin and Amelia Gray Hamlin. A photographer snapped a pic of Lisa, Delilah, and Amelia looking fierce as they posed for the camera. But it looked like Rae didn't get the memo, looking off to the side and paying no mind to the glamorous pic being snapped.
The photo instantly went viral, thanks to Rae's enigmatic expression. Luckily, she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen just a few days later, and we were finally able to get to the bottom of the puzzling pic during the February 13 episode (clip above).
"What was going through your head in this moment?" Andy Cohen asked the Insecure star. "Were you miserable? Were you trying to stay away? Talk to us about what was happening here."
Rae then explained her detached demeanor. "The photographer wasn't trying to take a picture of me, so I just moved," she said. "[Lisa] was always rubbing my shoulders a lot, so I wanted more shoulder room, and that was it."
Well, there you have it.
