Nene Leakes Reflects on Her RHOA Finale Drama with Cynthia Bailey: "You Don't Understand How This Broke Me!"
Nene Leakes shares an update on how she feels about her conflict with Cynthia Bailey today.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta saved its most major Season 11 drama for last. In the Season 11 finale Sunday night, Nene Leakes and Cynthia Bailey had their most heated discussion in years when Nene expressed her disappointment over not being notified that Kenya Moore would be attending Cynthia's event.
After seeing how upset Nene was over the whole situation, Cynthia apologized for not giving her friend the head's up about the possibility of Kenya showing up to her event, but there seemed to be some lingering hurt on Nene's end as Season 11 of RHOA came to a close. Still, it seemed as though Nene and Cynthia would eventually settle their differences and get their friendship back on track with time.
However, Nene opened up about how much this whole ordeal continues to impact her to this day. "YOU [DON'T] UNDERSTAND HOW THIS BROKE ME! I will NEVER be ok! NEVER!" she tweeted Sunday night. "I’m broken! My sisterhood was real REAL!"
In another tweet, Nene said, "You don’t understand how this has hurt my heart."
Cynthia showed remorse for how things went down with Nene in the finale during The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 11 After Show, which you can view, above. "I cannot believe in Nene's normal, rational mind that she would actually care who was at my party unless she came to support me because I've done nothing but be supportive of any and everything that she's done," Cynthia said.
"Looking back after talking to her, I was like, OK, fine. Maybe I should have said, 'Hey, Nene, there's a slim chance in hell that Kenya's coming to the party. Just wanted to let you know.' You don't even know how much I wish I had made that phone call."
Cynthia went on to say that she believes the real reason Nene was so bothered by Kenya's appearance at her party really has something to do with everything that she's going through while taking care of her husband, Gregg Leakes, amid his battle with colon cancer.
"I mean, when it comes to Nene who I love and cherish, I have to give her a pass. I think that Nene is really having a very hard time dealing with her new reality of what's happening with Gregg because it's a lot, and cancer does not come with a manual. They have a new life. They have a new existence. They have a new marriage. They have a new sex life. A lot of things happen," Cynthia said during the After Show. "So when I know deep down in my heart that truly wasn't what it was about, I just can't believe that that was the issue."
