Teddi Mellencamp says her "priority is her children" amid her divorce

As previously stated, Teddi announced in a statement on Saturday, Nov. 2, that she had filed for divorce from Edwin. "After a great deal of care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce," she wrote in her Instagram post.

"My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken with their privacy and wellbeing throughout this new chapter," she continued. "Making a public statement is not something I wanted to do but in an effort to protect my family from undue speculation and rumors, I felt being open, honest, and vulnerable was the best path forward."

Teddi Mellencamp opened up about how Edwin Arroyave had been there for her in November 2023

Throughout the course of their relationship, Teddi had been open about how Edwin had been there for her during tough times. Nearly one year ago, on Nov. 13, 2023, Teddi took to her Instagram account, where she posted a throwback photo of her and Edwin taken early on in their relationship.

"Some days we are so busy with work, kids, and life that I don't let him know when I am struggling," she wrote in the caption of the post at that time. "So often we want to be strong for our partner, pretending to be a super-human for the sake of optics or a fear of being seen as weak. But last night, I felt a strength from Edwin that radiated through both of us  — and it's something I still feel as I write this."
