After her mom expressed some confusion about Monica's name on the show, the RHOSLC Season 4 newbie addressed why she's gone by four different names in the past on the reunion. Find out what she revealed by scrolling below.

Monica Garcia Explains Why She Went By Four Different Names

Before Mary joined the rest of the ladies on stage, host Andy Cohen asked Monica to clear up the mystery surrounding her name (in case you need a refresher, Monica's mom accused her of changing her name "every five minutes" during a one-on-one earlier on in the season).

"My maiden name was Darnell," she said, clarifying why her mom called her Monica Darnell during their sit-down. "Fowler is my married name."

When asked about where the last name Delgado came from, Monica said that it's from her "dad's side." Garcia, which is the surname she currently uses, is her mom's birth last name.

However, she explained, that her mom didn't go by Garcia once she became an adult. "Garcia is [a name from] my mother's side. My mother was born Linda Darnell Susan Maria Garcia. When she was growing up, she was teased for being [Portuguese] in Boston..." Monica said, adding, "So, when she became of legal age, she chopped her entire name off because she was ashamed of it, and just kept Linda Darnell," Monica continued. "So, when I was born I was Monica Linda Darnell. But, that name means nothing to me, so when I was getting a divorce, I wanted a family name."

As a result, Monica selected her mother's surname, Garcia. "I legally have only ever used three, which is the one that I was born with, when I got married, and when I got divorced," she said.

Monica Garcia Shares Updates on Her Relationships with Her Mom and Dad

During her first season as a 'wife, Monica let viewers in on her complicated relationship with her mom. At the end of the finale, it was revealed that Monica was no longer on speaking terms with her mom, Linda.

"My mother and I are not speaking," Monica shared in Part 2 of the reunion. Andy then asked when the last time Monica had last spoken to her mom was, and she responded, "Since the filming wrapped."

Andy subsequently asked Monica if she had been in contact with her father at all, and she said, "No," confirming that she hadn't seen him since she was four years old. "Honestly, I don't even know if at this age I would want to meet him," she said. "Like, it's so weird, but I would like to know what he looks like at least."
