Lisa Vanderpump Opens up About the Loss of Her Brother: "We Were More Like Twins"
The Vanderpump Rules boss reflects on her sibling's passing earlier this year.
Lisa Vanderpump opened up about the loss of her brother, Mark Vanderpump, during the Season 7 premiere of Vanderpump Rules. At the time the episode was filmed, the loss was fresh for the restaurateur and philanthropist as only five weeks had passed since her brother's death. Lisa opened up a bit more about what it was like to lose "my only sibling," her older brother by 16 months, after he "passed away through suicide" during an emotional moment in the episode.
"For five weeks I stayed home. Obviously, just being the two of us, we were more like twins," she said. "It's been incredibly difficult, but we have to keep moving forward and make the people that were so important in our lives proud as they watch down over us."
Back in May, Lisa confirmed her brother's passing in a statement. "This has come as a shock to us all. My brother and I had connected the day before this tragedy and I was completely unprepared for this. He was my only sibling and I am shocked and saddened by his passing," The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills mogul said in a statement about her sibling, who was 59 at the time. He reportedly passed away at his home in Gloucestershire, England in late April. "I am trying to be supportive to his two young sons that he has left behind, and help them get through this tragedy."
During this past Monday's episode of Vanderpump Rules, she also opened up a bit more about how she was coping with his passing to Lala Kent, who lost her dad back in April. LVP noted to the SUR hostess, "Its hard, like you don't even want to talk about it. When people say 'I'm sorry,' then you start to become emotional."
