We Have Proof That Markie Is the Star of the Manzo Family
Caroline Manzo's 6-year-old granddaughter stole the show at a recent family event.
There's no question that Markie Scalia is a scene-stealer. And a very adorable one at that.
This was further proven on July 9 when Markie's mom — Manzo’d with Children’s Lauren Manzo Scalia —provided an inside look at a recent family event. The mother of one posted an Instagram carousel that began with a cute picture of her and her daughter posing at the Brownstone, the upscale Patterson, New Jersey, venue owned and operated by Markie’s granddad, Al Manzo.
Lauren and Markie cut up the dance floor
Lauren looked absolutely stunning in red, but it was Markie who stole the show in a charming floral dress accessorized with tiny gold earrings and a pair of beige horse-bit shoes. Lauren’s post included a selfie with her only child as well as snapshots from their photo booth session. The Jersey mom didn't provide any details about the special occasion, however, the subsequent slides confirmed the Manzos were celebrating a wedding.
One picture showed Lauren with fellow wedding guests and another captured Markie smiling ear to ear while sitting at a reception table. Lauren also shared a precious video of her and her daughter hitting the dance floor while the DJ played Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk.”
Caroline Manzo posts a photo of Markie and her other "babies"
Markie’s grandma, The Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Caroline Manzo, also documented the celebration on Instagram, where she posted a photo of her, Lauren, and Markie alongside her two sons, Albie Manzo and Chris Manzo.
“Momma with her babies,” Caroline captioned the photo, which showed her embracing her granddaughter.
Lauren reflects on parenting and "working mom guilt"
Lauren shares Markie with Vito Scalia, a businessman and family friend whom she married in 2015. About two years after her daughter's birth, Lauren opened up about parenthood and whether she experienced “working mom guilt” while running a salon.
“I never did until recently, not until she started school really,” she said on her cousin Ashlee Holmes Malleo’s podcast, Making It Up As I Go. “Because she was always home and now I feel bad sometimes when I pick her up from school and I know she wants to spend time with me and sometimes I have to go back to work and I have to drop her off at her nanny, who she adores and who is basically like a third grandma to her, but yeah I definitely do sometimes. But at the end of the day, I’m doing what I need to do for her and for us.”
