Why Josh Altman Is "Basically Living in His Car"

Find out why the Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles agent is spending most of his time behind the wheel.

By Shannon Raphael

Josh Altman's motto is that he "sells the dream," even if that means he's spending most of his time in his car.

How to Watch

Watch Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles on Peacock and the Bravo App.

In a preview for Season 15, Episode 3 of Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles, which will air on July 24, Josh jokes that he's been "living" in his Rolls Royce ever since he and his brother, Matt Altman, and his wife, Heather Altman, brought The Altman Brothers to Orange County.

"Since launching Newport Beach, I'm in my car going multiple different directions daily," he says in an interview on the episode, which you can check out by watching the video at the top of this post. "I am that new realtor basically living in his car."

All of the time in the car has taken a toll on Altman's body, though. "Yeah, my butt hurts," he jokes.

But the time behind the wheel has paid off, as Altman goes on to tour a "sick" luxury Island Vista listing in Pelican Crest that he's going to list for $26.8 million.

The home, according to Altman, is located in "one of the best gated communities in all of Newport Coast."

"The location is just best of the best," he says about the property, which features $2 million worth of "156 slabs of natural marble," a hotel-esque foyer, five bedrooms, and a 180-degree ocean view. See more of the house by watching the video above.

Where does Josh Altman actually live?

The real estate mogul may be spending a lot of his time in his luxury vehicle, but his home base is going to soon be a waterfront home in Orange County. Josh and Heather purchased the home back in 2023, and they set off on a long renovation shortly thereafter.

During an exclusive chat with The Daily Dish in June 2024, Heather revealed the latest in the renovation process.

She shared that the home would likely be done in about "four months," which would mean that the spouses and their two kids, Lexi and Ace Altman, could be moving in in the fall.

"Of course, with any remodel, you can scope one thing, and then you get into it, and you’re like, ‘Oh, let’s increase the ceiling height, let’s blow out this wall, let’s add this,’" she explained. "So we definitely added some time to the project, but at the end of the day, this is our forever home so I want to do it perfect and do it right... We did everything that we wanted to with this house, and it’s going to be amazing."

Heather and Josh are calling the property their "forever home."

"Heather knocked it out of the park," Josh shared during the same interview about the renovation. "Every inch of that house, she just rocked. It’s taking a little longer, it costs a lot more, but for us, like she said, this is not a couple-year house. This is a house that we’re going to pass down to our kids. We’re excited."
