João Franco Details the Awkward Hookup Fail You Didn't See on Air
Things did not go well for the Below Deck Med bosun after one night out with the crew.
After finding himself in a love triangle with Kasey Cohen and Brooke Laughton in Season 3 of Below Deck Mediterranean, João Franco was flying solo in Season 4, focusing on his new responsibilities as bosun rather than the ladies. But now we've come to find that brief flirty moment he shared with Hannah Ferrier wasn't the only event for João in the love department.
It turns out João brought a "random" back to the boat one night, according to Anastasia Surmava in the Below Deck Mediterranean Season 4 After Show, which you can view, above. But João really wishes he hadn't. "Oh, god. She kind of like followed us back to the boat," he said during the Below Deck Med After Show. "She wanted a lot more from me than I was prepared to give."
They eventually took things to the jacuzzi, which didn't really help matters. "We ended up in the jacuzzi, like almost reluctantly. I was trying to get everyone to get into the jacuzzi with me. They didn't want [to]," João recalled. "Yeah, she came to the boat, she kind of tried a little bit more in the jacuzzi with me, and I kind of avoided her at all costs but couldn't quite get her to leave."
João said he isn't really sure what he saw in her in the first place. "But she was wearing this like curtain of a skirt," he said. "She had this really weird painted box as a purse. Don't know what I found attractive at all, but she wasn't really attractive."
He added, "She wasn't my type."
But none of this stopped the woman from trying to get intimate with the bosun. "She dropped her clothes, and she had this lingerie kind of thing on. It was like black lace netting, but everything from here [the chest up] was off," João said. "I just remember looking at her and thinking, 'Holy s--t, when this comes up I am gonna look like such an idiot.' It was so bad."
Being the best bro that he is, Colin Macy-O'Toole may have stepped in to save João. "Then [João] came inside and just left her," Aesha Scott said in the Below Deck Med After Show. "And I think maybe Colin or someone had to just sit and chat to her until the van took her home."
At least you have an interesting story to tell, João!
