In the January 20 episode of her Intimate Knowledge podcast, Meghan alleged that not only is Jim dating someone new following their split last fall, but the woman is also one of The Real Housewives of Orange County alum's former friends with whom the couple had a threesome when they were newlyweds. Meghan claimed that Jim was currently with this woman in Cabo, and he had brought her with him as his date to a birthday party during the trip.

When Meghan's podcast co-hosts Brooke Burke and Lila Darville asked her if she believed Jim and this woman were having an affair, the RHOC mom alleged, “I think they probably had sex more than one time.”

Jim responded to the accusations in a statement to PEOPLE, confirming both he and Meghan have filed for divorce. “I am tired of the lies for publicity,” he said. “I filed for divorce over 90 days ago. Meghan has filed as well. The marriage is and has been over. I was invited to a surprise birthday party this weekend for one of my best friends and decided to bring a date. There is no affair going on here. It has been a plus one for the weekend. The woman I am in Cabo with is not her friend. They have not spoken in over three years.”

The former MLB player then addressed the claims that the couple had engaged in a threesome during their marriage, which Meghan had said was only a "one-time thing." “As far as threesomes go, there were more than a few initiated by Meghan and only Meghan. Recently, I have learned that she carried on with a few of these women without me being present," Jim said in his statement to PEOPLE. "Would that not be considered cheating? How can she have a podcast talking about intimacy and relationships when she has neither?”

Following rumors of infidelity, Jim reportedly filed for divorce on October 25, 2019, one day after the couple's fifth wedding anniversary. Much of Meghan and Jim's relationship drama then played out in the press.

However, Meghan and Jim seemed to be moving in a positive direction as of late. They reportedly reached an agreement for 50/50 joint custody of their three children, 3-year-old daughter Aspen and 19-month-old twin sons Hart and Hayes, in November.

Meghan was also optimistic about their future as co-parents. While speaking to Us Weekly in December, Meghan said she had “really high hopes for the future, in every way."

"I think the new year especially, and the new decade, is a great way to kind of launch positive thinking and the law of attraction,” Meghan continued. “I don’t know. New beginnings are huge, so I’m looking forward to that.”
