The RHOC daughter celebrated the special night in an all-black look.
When it comes to formal attire, it’s hard to go wrong with a little black dress.
Heather Dubrow proved this on Sunday, April 28, when she shared a glimpse at her youngest daughter’s high school prom night. The Real Housewives of Orange County mom posted two photos of Kat Dubrow rocking a gorgeous dress that was a bit unexpected for the milestone occasion.
While prom dresses are traditionally long gowns presented in vibrant hues (think spring-ready pastels or dramatic gemstone colors), Kat opted for a short, all-black look. The teen donned a satin mini with an A-line skirt, ruching detail around the bust, and off-the-shoulder long sleeves with slits at the cuffs. She completed the ensemble with small hoop earrings and an elegant middle-part hairstyle.

Kat also showed off her prom look in a cute TikTok video featuring her date. The clip began with the pair tossing a stuffed animal back and forth while dressed pretty casually: Kat was seen in a zip-up hoodie and gym shorts, while her date was in a short-sleeve tee and sweatpants. Seconds later, the clip cut to the high schoolers in their full prom looks.
“Ferry in bae!” Kat captioned the post, which showed her date in a two-button black suit and a white dress shirt.

The past year has been quite eventful for the RHOC daughter. Before turning 17 back in October, Kat had spent a portion of her summer in Evanston, Illinois. She was enrolled in Northwestern University’s National High School Insitute, a five-week pre-college program that offers studies in film and video.
Months before heading to the Prairie State, Heather revealed she had secured a role in one of Kat’s films. The OC mom posted an April 4, 2023, Instagram that showed her and her husband, Dr. Terry Dubrow, hanging out on a day of filming.
“Feeling very at home on set… maybe a little too at home,” she captioned the carousel. “So proud of our baby [Kat] on her new film and it was so FUN to be included !!”

Heather and Terry also share a 13-year-old son, Ace, and 20-year-old twins, Nick and Max. The former twin is currently studying at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, while his sister Max is enrolled at Tufts University in Boston. The two spoke about their reality TV experience in a 2023 installment of Growing Up Bravo.
“A lot of people ask me if it’s annoying to have cameras at your house 24-7, and I kind of have to explain that’s not how it is,” she said. “I’m glad we did it and I’m glad it’s furthering my mom’s career, and that’s really all that matters, that she’s happy and doing what she loves. I also think it’s opened up a lot of amazing opportunities for me, which I’m extremely grateful about.”
