Gizelle Bryant Is Back Together with Ex-Husband Jamal Bryant: "I Feel Like He's a Different Person"

Sometimes the word on the street is actually true on The Real Housewives of Potomac.

Gizelle Bryant confirmed the rumors that she is back together with ex-husband Jamal Bryant are true during Part 1 of the RHOP Season 4 reunion Sunday night. 

However, it wasn't easy for host Andy Cohen to get to the bottom of Gizelle's love life during the reunion at first. "There's somebody that I have been committed, that I've been, yes," before clarifying her "strangest answer ever" by saying, "There's someone that is heavily pursuing me, and I am enjoying the pursuit and I am open to it."

Gizelle previously denied the rumors during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on May 5. "We're very close. We have a great relationship. We're great," she said. "But we're not officially back together or anything like that. But we are great friends."

However, when Andy asked at the reunion if the mystery man was her ex-husband, like he had heard, she confirmed the gossip and said she and Jamal reconnected last year.

Gizelle admitted that the transition from married couple to exes back to dating hasn't been easy for her and Jamal's three daughters, Grace, Angel, and Adore. "You know what, they're a little confused, to be honest with you, because they've never seen us together in that way. We got divorced 12 years ago," Gizelle explained. "So when he comes into town and he wants to take me to dinner, they're like, 'Wait a minute, aren't we all going?' Because that's what we normally do."

Still, it seems as though the Bryants are loving being a fierce fivesome again. Gizelle and Jamal were all smiles when they came together to send Grace off for her first day of high school in August. "I do love when we're all together as a family," Gizelle said during the reunion.

Whether or not this means Gizelle will be resuming her role as the first lady of a megachurch (Jamal is the pastor of the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia), she's leaving that — and presumably the possibility of getting remarried — up to a higher power. "I'm gonna be whatever the lord brings into my life," she said.

Gizelle's marriage with Jamal initially ended because he had been unfaithful. However, the RHOP couple has been able to move forward from that difficult time in their relationship in recent years. "You know, I look back, and I just feel like nobody is what their mistakes are. And I feel like he's a different person, I'm a different person," she shared. "So we are baby-stepping, but we are moving into the direction that we want to move into."

Robyn Dixon, who is similarly back together with her ex-husband, Juan Dixon, after they experienced infidelity in their marriage, defended Gizelle's decision to rekindle her romance with her ex. "I want to say that's probably why she is supportive of me and Juan, because she gets it," Robyn said during the reunion. "There's nothing like having that other person that you know has your back. You're best friends regardless of what you've been through."

Even Karen Huger understood why Gizelle would give Jamal another chance, and that's saying something, considering all of the drama these two have been through. "If anybody stands a chance of making it with you, that's him," Karen said at the reunion.

Gizelle chose to see that as a compliment and not shade. "Karen's right, there's nobody that knows me like that man," she shared.

This isn't the first time Gizelle has gotten back together with an ex. She resumed her relationship with boyfriend Sherman Douglas at the start of this season of RHOP after they broke up in Season 3. They eventually split again after Sherman decided to not accompany Gizelle as her date to Candiace Dillard's Bassett's wedding.
