Gizelle Bryant, Candiace Dillard Bassett, and Eva Marcille Team Up for a Movie Highlighting an Emotional Topic
The ladies of RHOP and RHOA are here to spread awareness about an important issue.
Gizelle Bryant, Candiace Dillard Bassett, and Eva Marcille have joined forces for a project that sheds light on an emotional and timely topic. The Real Housewives will all appear in the TV movie, The Waiting Room, which tells the story of women dealing with being diagnosed with breast cancer.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Eva shared a powerful still from the film this week and also previously reflected on the meaning of the movie. "Get those tissues ready!! UP NEXT THE WAITING ROOM," she wrote late last month. "Whether you’re living with cancer or looking at a possible diagnosis, standing by for test results can be overwhelming and stressful. The Waiting Room can be a cold and lonely place for many people waiting to hear life or death results. Let’s talk about it. You don’t have to wait alone."
The movie premieres this month, and The Real Housewives of Potomac's Candiace posted about its premiere to her Instagram Stories. Fellow RHOP cast member Gizelle opened up a bit about the project on Instagram. "I’M SO EXCITED! So humbled to be part of this project. I’m in a movie y’all!" she wrote late last month. She added just this week, "I’m doing all kinds of acting."
The movie also stars several familiar faces, including Golden Brooks (Girlfriends) and Keshia Knight Pulliam (The Cosby Show). According to the network, the films are being released "in recognition of #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth." "Watch two powerful stories, It Takes Two and The Party, that follow the journeys of two Black [women] after receiving a life-changing diagnosis," the BET Her Instagram account notes. "Survive And Thrive."
A website for the National Breast Cancer Foundation notes that Breast Cancer Awareness Month is "an annual campaign to raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer."
This isn't the first acting project that reunites Eva with a person familiar to Real Housewives fans. She also stars in All the Queen's Men, which has included appearances from Bolo, who you just might remember from his memorable appearance in Season 13 of RHOA at Cynthia Bailey's bachelorette party.
As for Candiace, she's also appeared alongside another RHOA lady, Kenya Moore, in the sitcom, Family Reunion, which also included The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Brandi Glanville.
And when Gizelle and Candiace aren't sharing their lives every Sunday on RHOP (Season 6 is airing now!), they have been keeping fans entertained in other ways. Candiace recently released her debut album, Deep Space, and Gizelle co-hosts the Reasonably Shady podcast with Robyn Dixon.
