Nene Leakes Told Garcelle Beauvais to "Watch Out" for the Beverly Hills Housewives
The RHOBH newcomer got very different advice from friends Nene Leakes and Cynthia Bailey.
Garcelle Beauvais may have been friends with Denise Richards and Lisa Rinna long before joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but the best advice she got on joining the franchise actually came from outside of the 90210.
The RHOBH newcomer revealed during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen: @ Home on April 15 that none other than Nene Leakes gave her the best advice on becoming a Housewife. "She said, 'Girl, they're gonna be lying and stabbing you in the back. Watch out,'" Garcelle playfully recalled to Andy Cohen (clip above).
Garcelle actually goes way back with many of the Atlanta Housewives, including Nene and Cynthia Bailey, who she recalled gave her very different pieces of advice before she joined RHOBH. "Cynthia being as sweet as she is was like, you know, 'Have fun. They’re gonna love you. You’re gonna be great.' She was very cool," Garcelle told The Daily Dish during an interview prior to the RHOBH Season 10 premiere. "Nene was like, 'Girl, look out, they’re gonna lie. They’re gonna stab you in the back.' I got two different perspectives from them."
But as helpful as these Real Housewives veterans' words of wisdom were to Garcelle, she knew that, at the end of the day, she had to experience RHOBH for herself. "I always tell my kids like when they’re starting a new school year, and they’re all like, 'This teacher is really strict.' And I always go, 'You know what, your experience is gonna be your experience. You gotta go in with a blank slate and see what you get,'" Garcelle explained. "And so that’s kinda how I went, even though Cynthia and Nene gave me their opinion. I felt like, let me just go in with no preconceived notions and just go in and have fun and see what it’s like. I’m a big girl. I can handle it."
