The Story Behind Emily Simpson's Giant Engagement Ring Is "Like a Fairy Tale" (PICS)
Find out why the RHOC cast member's husband, Shane Simpson, gifted her the diamond sparkler years after their wedding.
Back in 2018, Emily Simpson revealed to Page Six that she and her husband, Shane Simpson, got "married so quickly" that she didn't get "an actual engagement ring," just a wedding band.
Because of Shane's now-iconic Google Chat proposal that resulted in a last-minute Las Vegas wedding with no photos or engagement ring (revisit the story in the clip above), The Real Housewives of Orange County couple decided to celebrate their union years later in a big way.
RHOC fans got a glimpse of that celebration on Season 16, Episode 17, when Emily and Shane organized a professional wedding photoshoot. In the April 2022 episode, when Emily met Shane in a stunning strapless white gown, he noted how "beautiful" she looked. He then said, "But you're missing something."
Shane then pulled out a stunning ring with a large center stone and pavé band and slid it onto her finger — the engagement ring she'd been waiting for all those years.

Emily was delightfully surprised.
The magic, however, didn't stop there.
Shane then took a second pavé band from their son Keller and put it on Emily's hand, noting it was a "wedding band" (Emily clarified in a confessional interview she hadn't been able to find her original wedding ring "for three years").
"Then we hit 10 years, which was a big deal for you," Shane added as he reached into their other son Luke's pocket for a third and final diamond band. Emily gushed about her three new dazzling jewelry pieces before kissing her husband.
"It's like everything I've ever wanted in my life really came true," Emily shared in an interview. "It's like a fairy tale."
Emily and Shane Simpson's celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary
Emily and Shane continue to honor their union over the years, celebrating their 15th marriage anniversary in February.
"15 years ago I took a huge leap of faith and married Shane at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas; it was quick, it was crazy and I had no clue what I was doing," Emily shared in a February 14 Instagram post which featured a series of photo of her and her husband. "I just knew he was a good man with a good heart and he made me laugh[.]"
She continued: "Fast forward 15 years later and here we are still going strong, building a beautiful life, raising five children and still sort of liking each other. Thank you for putting up with me for 15 years, making fun of me for 15 years and always being my biggest fan and supporter while still putting me in my place and keeping me humble and grounded. I know it’s an incredibly daunting task."
