How to Watch

Watch Southern Charm on Peacock and the Bravo App.

On the September 24 episode of Giggly Squad, the podcast she hosts with Summer House alum Hannah Berner, Paige revealed that she had been experiencing panic attacks before their live shows.

During a recent chat with E! News, Southern Charm-er Craig shared what he was doing when he learned that Paige was having a "scary" panic attack.

"I was actually at a work dinner in Missouri and my partner noticed my phone was being — she was calling me, so I answered and [Paige] was having a panic attack and I was able to work her through it," he told the outlet. "It was scary for everyone involved, because you're not there to help and she was so brave and she pushed through."

Craig commended his girlfriend for discussing it on her podcast.

"In her awesome nature of transparency, she shared it with all of her listeners that night at the show," he continued. "What we realize is the more honest we are with stuff, people are like, ‘Oh me too, me too.'"

He noted that Paige plans to continue to speak publicly about her panic attacks to help destigmatize them, and to support her listeners.

"So, she’s on this journey trying to figure it out, because it came out of nowhere," the Sewing Down South founder added. "She’s sharing this journey with everyone, and I hope she’s able to connect and help others."

Paige DeSorbo opens up about experiencing panic attacks

As Craig mentioned, Paige discussed her recent bout with panic attacks on her podcast.

"Obviously, we did a tour last year and I [was] fine, amazing, great, walked out on stage no problems. And, for whatever reason, this tour, I've always said I have general anxiety, like I get nervous about certain things and I'm just a basic human. I never really felt panic attacks the way people would describe them... Never have I personally experienced it..." Paige said on the September 24 episode. "[Then] I had my first real, legit panic attack."

"And the crazy thing about anxiety is you don't know what it's about," Paige continued. "And, yes, obviously I was about to go on stage in front of 3,000 people, so you could be like, 'Oh, yeah, it's stage fright.' Except that I've done that 50 times before."

Paige admitted that she was "part frustrated" because she didn't know "what the f-ck [was] going on with [her] body," and because it was the first time she couldn't "snap out of it."

Once she got on stage, she said she was fine — but she had another panic attack the following night as well.

"Obviously I didn't plan for this to happen..." she said, noting that once others began to share their experiences with panic attacks she "did feel less alone."
