Did the Below Deck Crew See Chandler Brooks' Relationship with Jamie Jason Coming?

Chandler Brooks and Jamie Jason's apparent relationship has sent shockwaves throughout the Below Deck-verse. We mean, isn't a Below Deck-Below Deck Mediterranean romance what we've all been waiting for?!

But perhaps not everyone was ready for this relationship. "I don’t know Jamie, but I would’ve not thought that would’ve happened," Rhylee Gerber told The Daily Dish during an interview in New York City on Tuesday.

However, Ross Inia, who definitely had a better working relationship with Chandler than Rhylee did this season of Below Deck, said this relationship actually makes a lot of sense. "They’re happy and in love," he said. "I think they complement each other quite well."

Ross has even gotten to spend some time with Chandler and Jamie on land. "Yeah, down in Fort Lauderdale, I went to his house. He had just renovated his house, and he invited me for a barbecue, a couple of drinks. I’ve been over there a couple of times to hang out with them. Yeah, it’s been good," he said. "When I’ve hung out with them, she seems to be more, she’s the one that’s always talking and he’s kind of just the kick-back, quiet type of guy."

After teasing that she was in a shocking new relationship backstage at the taping of the Below Deck Med Season 3 reunion, Jamie has been dropping hints about a Below Deck-Below Deck Med relationship on social media since October. The two were then spotted looking cozy at a Below Deck Season 6 premiere watch party and the wedding of Below Deck Season 1 chief stew  Adrienne Gang earlier this fall. 

Jamie appeared to confirm that she is dating Chandler in November. Judging by a recent post in Jamie's Instagram Story, she seems to still be completely smitten with Chandler. "What's so special about him?" Jamie captioned a shirtless selfie of Chandler. "Nothing, it's just that nothing's special without him."

Below Deck fans watched Chandler's journey come to an end after Captain Lee Rosbach let him go earlier this season. Perhaps unsurprisingly to fans, Rhylee said she has not talked to the bosun since he departed M/Y Seanna, but Ross and his fellow deckhand Ashton Pienaar said they have kept in touch with Chandler. "Yeah, I think I’ve chatted to him twice or three times. We’ve actually caught up with him in LA. Yeah, we’re friendly with him," Ashton told The Daily Dish. "He’s a good guy outside of the show... We get on, he’s cool." 

But Ross admitted that seeing everything that went down with Rhylee and Chandler this season has changed his opinion of the bosun somewhat. "I look at Rhylee and what she had to go through, so yeah, I’m stunned to see it," Ross said. "To be honest, we did see the altercations that happened between them, I’m not gonna lie, but there were certain things that he’d done that we didn’t see."
