Carrie O'Neill's Admission About the Laundry Drama Leaves a Producer Shocked: "Wow"
The new Below Deck Mediterranean stew explained why she "felt for" Bri Muller's challenges with the laundry system aboard Mustique.
Season 9 of Below Deck Mediterranean has brought some interesting drama around the topic of laundry, to say the least. On the Below Deck Mediterranean After Show, recently hired stew, Carrie O'Neill, shed new light on the situation, which has involved second and third stews, Elena "Ellie" Dubaich and Bri Muller.
Just ICYMI, Bri was having issues with the laundry system all season. To try and aid her struggles, she requested colored beads to use for each crew member to hopefully get things in order. "Did it work?" chef Johnathan Shillingford asked in the above clip from the After Show, to which Bri replied, "Ish."
Carrie then explained why Bri may need to be vindicated from some of the blame.
"I did learn quite quickly that the two [deckhands, Joe Bradley and Nathan Gallagher) were a little bit naughty because they'd bring sh-t down halfway through the day not in their laundry bag," she revealed. "I'd come back from lunch and I'd be like, 'Who the f-ck just brought this in?' It was in the bins, it was a couple of shirts and I was like, 'I don't know who the f-ck's this is. It's not in a laundry bag. I'm not a mind reader.'"
She continued: "It really should be up to them to make sure it's labeled before they chuck it in a bin because if I [get] a medium guy's shirt, I don't know which one of the three [deckhands] it is if it's not their initial in it, so ... in Bri's defense, I would say maybe they weren't helping."
That behind-the-scenes detail was so profound it even shocked a producer. "Wow..." she said, stunned by the revelation.
"Yup. Cheeky little sausages, all of them!" Carrie exclaimed, further expressing her empathy for Bri's various challenges throughout the charter.
"I felt for her," Carrie added. "I was like, 'F-cking hell, no wonder she's struggling to figure this out. This isn't her fault!"
Kate Chastain shares her solution to Bri Muller's laundry issues
When speaking with the Below Deck Mediterranean chief stew Aesha Scott during the After Show, Kate Chastain shared her suggestion for a stew who's facing troubles with the system: assigning laundry days per different cabins.
"Cabin one, you can only drop off your laundry on Monday. Cabin two, you can only drop off your laundry on Wednesday," the Below Deck alum explained, as Aesha nodded in agreement.
"You need so many ways of checks and balances," she continued. "It all comes down to just being organized, it doesn't matter what system you use."
What is Bri Muller's color beads laundry system?
As previously noted, Bri proposed a new system to organizing the crew laundry. Rather than checking the names written on the tags inside each article of clothing, Bri requested clip-on beads with individual colors assigned to each member of the crew.
