Bravo Snags Seven Primetime Emmy Nominations
Top Chef, Kathy Griffin and James Lipton should all celebrate.
It's a fine Thursday morning at Bravo HQ, as several of our shows and initiatives are officially Emmy nominees -- some for the first time and others in repeat fashion -- with a total of seven nominations overall for the network.
Top Chef is once again nominated in the Outstanding Reality Competition category -- and while the show itself garnered that major honor, the programming surrounding it also caught the eye of Emmy voters, as Last Chance Kitchen also earned nominations in two categories: Outstanding Special Class Short-Format Nonfiction Programs and Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media.
Also nabbing nominations were James Lipton (his fifteenth nom. 15!) and his crew for Inside the Actors Studio, which earned a nod for Outstanding Non-Fiction Series. And while James goes highbrow, the dirty jokes were also good enough for a nomination for Kathy Griffin, whose stand-up special Tired Hooker is up for Outstanding Variety Special. Yes, Tired Hooker is an Emmy nominee.
The news was so exciting that night owl Andy Cohen was up early to celebrate, tweeting "Mazel to #TopChef for another Emmy Nomination!!! So excited!!!!!! @tomcolicchio @PadmaLakshmi @gailsimmons @magicalelves @Bravotv" upon hearing the news.
