So, Why Did Ashley Jacobs Return to Hang with the Southern Charm Crew in Season 6?

By the end of the Southern Charm Season 5 reunion, it was obvious Ashley Jacobs wasn't exactly feeling the love from the Charleston crew. So imagine our surprise when we saw her stop by to catch up with the Charmers in the trailer for the upcoming Season 6 of Southern Charm, which premieres Wednesday, May 15 at 8/7c.

The Southern Charm squad's reactions to Ashley resurfacing were less surprising, however. Her arrival in the Season 6 trailer seems to be met with a scream from Chelsea Meissner in one moment, and in another, it appears that Ashley is asked to leave an event. New season, same old drama.

So why exactly did Ashley want to reunite with the Charmers, given how badly things ended between them last season? Luckily, The Daily Dish caught up with Cameran Eubanks and Austen Kroll prior to the premiere of Season 6 of Southern Charm in the hopes that they could enlighten us in the matter, which you can see in the above video.

And what we found out is that they are just as confused by the whole thing as you are. "I was convinced after last season that she would pack her bags and she would go back to California, which is where she's from. It's her home. And lo and behold, she shows up at a party unexpected," Cameran told The Daily Dish. "I think she really wants to be a part of this group of friends, for whatever reason."

Austen added in a separate interview, "I just don't understand the whole thing. I just don't get it. You know, she's been very vocal about how much she thinks we're all losers... and then she'll show up."

We probably shouldn't expect to see a reconciliation between Ashley and Kathryn Dennis any time soon either, according to Austen. "I think that her culpability is at an astounding low," he said. "She doesn't understand the things that she said to Kathryn are truly horrible."

Southern Charm fans will just have to wait and see if they can make any headway on the enigma that is Ashley. "She's a very complex girl," Cameran said. "She'll say one thing and then do another, and then she will apologize. And then if you tell her how you really feel, she'll attack you. She's a very hard one to figure out."
